Mothers Standing Up To Gangsterism


On the 5th of November 2014 Africa Unite hosted a dialogue at 6 Spin restaurant with a group of women from the Hanover Park Community located in Cape Town.


This dialogue was requested by the female role models on how to deal with the challenges of gangsterism facing this are on the Cape Flats.

It has been noted that most of the problems expressed during this open dialogue, was the concern of gangersterism in this area and the effect it has on daily living.\


Due to the concern raised a need for a woman’s support group was realized. With a strong focus on children, activities will be created to help support affected families and interact with gangs and drug dealers with the bond being children,.

This movement is intended to extend to all areas of Hanover Park. The next meeting will be held on the 20th of November 2014.
